They carry, enthusiastically, the joyful Allegro con brio in String Quartet in B flat major Op. 18 No. 6, contrasting well with the second variation of String Quartet in F major Op. 135 Lento assai, cantante e tranquillo which slips into a confident dark C sharp minor creating a varied nature to their programme. This fantastic and committed performance by the Elias String Quartet brings a new and exciting energy to the masterworks of Beethoven.
